Misty Mountain Gaming partnered with Paizo to develop an officially licensed product collection for the Pathfinder and Starfinder tabletop role-playing games.

For the collection’s first phase, I designed two split-art backpacks using official artwork from each game. Translating detailed fantasy and science-fiction illustrations onto three-dimensional products required careful consideration of seams, zippers, pockets, trim, hardware, viewing angles, and manufacturing constraints.

I developed compositions that continued across the front and side panels, selected crops that preserved important characters and focal points, and used negative space to create balance. The Pathfinder backpack features dramatic red-dragon imagery, while the Starfinder design uses a contrasting blue-and-orange science-fiction composition. Both incorporate Paizo and Misty Mountain Gaming co-branding.

I also helped lead the collaboration and contributed to the retail packaging, product tags, campaign planning, and launch graphics. Development began in January 2025, and the collection reached customers in August 2025.
